Senior Advisor for EU policy and regulation

We are looking for two Senior Advisors to join our team, in Copenhagen, Delft or Brussels, and lead projects in our work for the European Commission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EU policies such as ecodesign, Energy labelling, EU Ecolabelling, Energy Efficiency Directive, Buildings Directive, or related regulatory areas, as well as environmental impact assessment.

Who are you?

You want a meaningful job, and you find the green transition and sustainability exciting. You have a strong knowledge of and experience with EU regulations and policies on products and sustainability. You are a skilled project manager; you are proactive in your work, and you enjoy motivating your project team and handling a large number of stakeholders. Creating structure is your instinct and you are used to working with data and converting it into useful results for policymakers.

You also have:

  • At least five years of experience within consultancy, a ministry, an EU institution, or a research center.
  • An education at M.Sc. level or similar.
  • Knowledge of EU regulations for product sustainability and/or sector specific knowledge of consumer appliances, textiles, product repairability, recyclability etc.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • English in speech and writing at C2 level and outstanding communication results in reports, meetings, and daily work. Other languages at a high proficiency level are an advantage.

We do not expect you to check all the bullets, but we hope you are eager to grow in the role.

What will you be doing?

You will be part of a strong international team with versatile expertise and collegial cohesion in the Sustainability department. Your everyday work will consist of projects where you meet clients with different needs and colleagues with different expertise. You will act as Project Manager on your own projects and as specialist on others’ projects. You will work on our EU projects and other client activities, where we are involved in developing requirements, criteria, and incentives to promote more sustainable and circular products.

Your tasks will be to:

  • Lead and manage projects for the European Commission and other EU Institutions, including studies, impact assessments, evaluations, and criteria development among others.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and provide recommendations for sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate legislative frameworks and regulations.
  • Assess the potential for energy savings and sustainability improvements in products’ lifecycle.
