Pepijn Wesselman, MSc., BSc.
Managing director - technical director
Background: Maritime Officer at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, and Innovation Sciences with a specialisation in energy and sustainable development at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Has international working experience in the energy sector and oil & gas industry as a technical advisor and project manager for maintenance on heavy duty gas turbines.
At VHK he is the managing director and also involved in reviews and impact assessments of ecodesign, energy labelling and standards monitoring for professional refrigeration products, central air heating and cooling products, space and water heating products, water pumps and industrial fans.
Fluent in Dutch, English and Spanish, passive knowledge of German and French.

René Kemna, MSc.
Executive consultant
Background: Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology.
International experience in design and engineering of whitegoods, lighting and (office) furniture industry (Italy, Germany, Netherlands). Teaching experience at the Delft University of Technology and Design Academy in Eindhoven. Responsible for consultancy on energy efficiency policy and Ecodesign of electric domestic appliances and lighting. Involved in EU and IEA projects regarding energy policy support for refrigerators, washing machines, CH Pumps, water heaters and ovens. He represented the Netherlands as a permanent technical expert in the EU's Energy Labeling Regulatory Committee (ELRC).

Rob van Holsteijn, MSc.
Executive consultant
Background: Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology.
Over 30 years experience as a consultant in the European central heating boiler, water heater, ventilation and radiator business. Technical consultant for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Energy policy consultant for Ventilation, Gas Appliances and Micro-cogeneration (fuel cells for stationary and mobile applications). Co-initiator, lead researcher and manager for the MONICAIR ventilation study.

Leo Wierda, PhD., MSc.
Senior research engineer
Background: Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. PhD. on "Cost-estimation tools for designers" at Industrial Design Engineering of the Delft University of Technology.
Previous work experience in Italy on design and analysis of structures for the aerospace sector, thermal analysis, concentrated photovoltaics (HCPV), and modelling of complex structural, thermal, optical and electrical systems.
He is with VHK as expert on light sources, carried out the ecodesign review study, and developing the appreciated MELISA scenario model for lighting with contributions to regulatory working documents and impact assessment. Also involved in scenario analysis for ecodesign and energy labelling (central heating boilers, water heaters, electric motors, water pumps, ventilation units, professional refrigeration, lighting systems), and technical project leader of the Ecodesign Impact Accounting (EIA).

Roy van den Boorn, MSc., BSc.
Senior research engineer
Background: Applied Physics at the Hogeschool Zuyd in Heerlen and Technical innovations sciences with specialisation in Sustainable energy at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Involved in design engineering and international research projects. International experience in research projects in Finland and Estonia. At VHK he is the primary consultant and leader of the monitoring of standards contracts for the European Commission.

Zhecho Bolashikov, PhD.
Senior research engineer
Senior HVAC engineer and researcher with PhD in ventilation and air-conditioning actively participating and involved in EU ecodesign and energy labeling legislation on HVAC appliances and standardization at CEN and ISO platforms. Technical expert in EU legislation regarding the performance (ecodesign) and energy labeling of air-conditioners and heat pumps, variable refrigeration flow (VRF) systems, ventilation systems as well as the Code of Conduct for Energy Smart Appliances Interoperability (LOT1, LOT6, LOT10, LOT21, and former LOT33).
Long standing experience in the standardisation on the CEN and ISO platforms regarding product performance testing as well as Energy Performance of Buildings standards. Member of CEN TC 113/WG7, CEN TC 228/WG4, CEN TC156/WG21, ISO TC86/SC6/WG1, WG3, WG 12 and WG 15 until October 2024. Former project lead of ISO 18107 - VRF global standard.

William Li, MSc.
Senior research engineer
Background: Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology.
Background working experience includes product R&D, simulations, specifically of mass produced consumer durables, ventilation units and heat exchangers.
He works on ecodesign and energy labelling regulation research with a focus on impact assessments and modelling. Areas include room air conditioners, local space heating, ICT, electronics and ventilation units.
Fluent in English and Dutch, passive knowledge of German, basic knowledge of Hakka.

Greeshma Gowda, MSc., BSc.
Research engineer
Background: Aeronautical engineering (BSc.) and Aerospace engineering (MSc.) at the Delft University of Technology with a specialisation in aerodynamics. Currently finishing a PhD. in vertical axis wind turbines.
At VHK involved in ecodesign research, impact assessment and modelling of central cooling and heating products.

Background: International Law at Erasmus University College, Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology.
Graduated cum laude in International Law at Erasmus University College on analysing the Dyson case and its adherence to EU-law rules and principles. Involved at VHK in providing legal support for office administration, as well as offering legal advice on EU law matters related to ecodesign and energy labelling.
